Wrinkle Reduction

As the glow of youth loses its shine and your facial skin is unable to hide your age, it’s time to consider treating those wrinkles. Wrinkles come with age, and form primarily as a result of loss of collagen so that it is no longer able to fully support the upper layer of the skin. This leads to loose skin around the jowl and neck areas, sagginess under the eyes, droopy brow lines, and nasolabial folds (smile lines) and lines around the eyes (crow’s feet). Medical studies have shown that loss of collagen occurs at the rate of 1% per year after the age of 40. The loss of collagen is also accelerated by several other factors such as sun exposure, hereditary characteristics, hormonal changes, smoking and alcohol consumption, as well as environmental and dietary factors.

Fortunately, non-invasive devices and procedures are available to remove or lighten wrinkles on the face and other parts of the body. These procedures work by sending heat deep into the skin causing immediate tissue tightening, which signals the body to start making new collagen. As the new collagen forms, superficial wrinkles disappear and deep wrinkles lighten. There is minimal downtime in most procedures.

How do we treat?

Wrinkle reduction can be achieved in different ways. All conditions and skin surfaces cannot be treated by one procedure. Each treatment regime is custom tailored for individual patients and depends upon their age and skin condition as well as medical and environmental factors. Your dermatologist at Binsina Laser Clinic can advise you the best treatment or combination of treatments suited to your condition. Treatments are carefully selected from the following set of procedures after a thorough examination of the area to be treated.

How do these treatments work?

Laser Genesis utilizes a laser beam to soften fine lines and wrinkles, shrink pores and reduce redness found deeper in the epidermis. Laser Genesis has proven to stimulate new collagen, giving your face a natural youthful appearance. The procedure is gentle and soothing. During the session, patients feel warm pulses along their skin. There is no downtime and results are amazing.
The eTwo Sublative procedure uses a combination of infrared light and bi-polar radio frequency to provide controlled deep dermal heating, which both stimulates new collagen and improves aged collagen to reduce deep wrinkles and tighten skin. During the procedure some patients feel a warm sensation while others can experience a slight pinching sensation.

The Portrait Plasma uses the plasma technology (plasma is the fourth state of matter) that works by delivering millisecond pulses of nitrogen plasma energy both on and below the surface of the skin to modify the skin’s architecture so that new collagen is generated leaving a healthy and even skin with an improved tone and texture.

How many treatments will I need?

Each treatment regimen is different and varies from case to case depending upon age, skin condition, hormonal imbalances, genetic disposition, environmental and dietary factors. Most patients can expect between 5 to 6 treatments to see improvement. A periodic top up treatment is recommended to continue to enjoy the youthfulness and freshness of your skin.

When will I see the results?

Results depend upon the age and condition of the skin. Some patients start to see early results over a period of 4 – 6 weeks. Others may take longer to see improvements. Further improvements continue to be observed for several months of the treatment.

Are there any side effects?

Generally, there are minimum side effects such as slight redness or mild swelling in the treated area, which is normally temporary. In some cases they can last from five to seven days as tiny scabs form and eventually fall off leaving a pink and healthy skin. Patients are advised not to expose the treated area to direct sunlight, very hot water and abrasive cleansers for some time. For best results it is recommended that patients always use a sunscreen of SPF 30+ when outdoors. Patients are strongly advised to follow post-care instructions provided by the Clinic to minimize risks and achieve desired results.

What are the benefits of Non-Surgical Wrinkle Reduction treatments?

  • No cutting or puncturing of the skin
  • No surgery required
  • Minimal discomfort
  • Minimal risk of change in skin
  • May be used for all skin types
  • Minimal or no downtime

*Benefits and risks may vary from case to case and will depend on size and type of skin being treated, age, hereditary, medical, hormonal and life style factors.
